Eghersis
is a transliteration of the Greek word, εγερσις, which has the meaning of being roused to life. Thus, it is my hope that what you find on this blog will empower, arouse, stimulate, excite, and animate your life--your soul, your spirit--the wholeness of who you are.

Forty Words for Forty Days: Day 40-Woman

Woman is a word that says “not man.” Woman is a she and a her. Not a he and a him. Female, not male. She is a living soul different from her Adam counterpart.

My present journey is a woman’s journey. It belongs to women. It is the journey that takes my Eve nature into the depths of what it means to be woman. It delves into a woman’s heart and discovers who she is—her value, her worth. This journey is a womb journey—a birthing passage.

When Jesus was asked how one enters the kingdom, he replied by saying, “Be born again.” This imagery lies in the realm of women. How is one born again? Given this imagery, it seems to me that Jesus is saying that one must enter the womb of God and be birthed into the kingdom.

The birthing process is one of discovery. It discovers what it means to be a woman or a man in the kingdom. It dives into the dark depths of creation and remakes from seed the whole person. A complete person is born alive as she or he was meant to live as created in the image of her or his Maker.

But this is a day for the woman, a day for her, for me to know that my journey into the womb of God, through the birth passage, and into the kingdom is a resurrection of worth, of value, and of honor. It is a good day for a woman.

Here is my reflective question for the day: “What does woman mean for your life?”
