Eghersis
is a transliteration of the Greek word, εγερσις, which has the meaning of being roused to life. Thus, it is my hope that what you find on this blog will empower, arouse, stimulate, excite, and animate your life--your soul, your spirit--the wholeness of who you are.

Butterfly Dance

Yesterday, two swallowtails danced over the lawn in my front yard. Such a graceful, delicate dance. Evocative. I wanted to join in their playfulness. They bounced, they teased, they touched. They were up, then down. They were around and around. One higher, the other lower. They circled. They fluttered their small roundel harmoniously in mid-air. They performed their intricate maneuvers in honor of the Trinity; and I, the joyous spectator, looked on.

Their movements evoked an inner desire to have a similar dance with the One Who Created the butterfly dance. Such a dance it would be. A light touch here, a soft caress there. Always sensing the delicate directions. Following freely. Unencumbered. It would be a dance of intricate steps in playful harmony with the Creator of Swallowtails. Oh! My heart is all a-flutter.

You know, I don't remember them and I am sorry that I don't.
