Eghersis
is a transliteration of the Greek word, εγερσις, which has the meaning of being roused to life. Thus, it is my hope that what you find on this blog will empower, arouse, stimulate, excite, and animate your life--your soul, your spirit--the wholeness of who you are.

Thanks, God

Thanks, God

Thanks, God, for being.
Thanks, Creator-God,
for a dying season,
wet, decaying plant matter,
fog and frost,
dark mornings and early nights.
Thanks, Mother-God,
for maturing daughters,
who share their laughter,
their tears, their thoughts,
their loves, their hurts.
Thanks, Espoused-God,
for an aging husband,
who teases about
my wrinkles and sagging skin
and stays anyway.
Thanks, Jesus-God,
for being human,
for allowing me to be human,
fragile, frightened, failing.
Thanks, Spirit-God,
for breath,
to speak, to be silent, to sigh,
to sing, to sorrow, to savor a fragrance.
Thanks, God, for being
The God.
