Eghersis
is a transliteration of the Greek word, εγερσις, which has the meaning of being roused to life. Thus, it is my hope that what you find on this blog will empower, arouse, stimulate, excite, and animate your life--your soul, your spirit--the wholeness of who you are.

Forty Words for Forty Days: Day 36-Nourish

Nourish is a word that feeds. It gives what is needed for health. Over the past thirty-six days, I have refrained from eating certain foods. What I have eaten has been sufficient. I have been nourished. Foods nourish the physical body. But what nourishes the soul, the spirit? Soul food—spirit food.

Soul food would give what is needed for a healthy soul. It would suffice the soul. It would be enough to sustain the soul. How does one know when the soul is undernourished? Hunger. A hungry soul is underfed. It craves that which provides what it needs to be whole. A starving soul will die a slow and uneasy death. A living soul needs to be nourished with the proper kind of soul and spirit food.

Here is my reflective question for the day: “What kind of soul food nourishes your soul?”
